Projects – Melbourne Racing Club – Caulfield Racecourse

When DBG Projects were awarded the contract to build a new server, carrier and AV room within the heritage-listed Boomerang Building at the Melbourne Racing Club - Caulfield Racecourse, they required a specialist electrical contractor with the expertise to work on a hi-tech project. After all, this would be the new communications centre for the entire racecourse.

Linkd Group. Electrical was selected to complete tasks that involved:

• the installation of a 150kva Vertiv UPS system to support the sensitive electronic equipment in case of black out
• the supply and installation of 13 full-height server racks with CAT6A and Optical Fibre tie cables between each
• the server rooms and administration buildings being fitted out with Dynalite lighting control to automatically adjust the lighting levels in each area according to the available sunlight
• the installation of a Clevertronics Hive emergency evacuation lighting system to enable the client to conduct their emergency light testing remotely
• the installation of an Integriti Inner Range access control and intruder detection system, as security was paramount for the client.

The exposed ceilings of the communications rooms presented a challenge, as all the cable trays were exposed, requiring Linkd Group. Electrical's workmanship to transition the trays into each server rack.
